Caramida aparenta antichizata Grey Braised

The grey facing brick with nuances

The surface of the brick is grey. The colour is obtained by braising the bricks. This process of braising may cause slight colour variations in the facing brick.

These hand-moulded facing bricks are made from Löss from Limburg, extracted from the plateau of Kesselt in the Meuse valley and revalued with raw materials from the Volcanic Eifel.

The facing brick (non-perforated) is sanded on five sides and provided with an oblong sloping groove on one flat side. The structure has a rough appearance with fine and irregular grooves in the sandy surface. The baking process is done in a gas-fired tunnel kiln under slightly reducing atmosphere.
